There’s a camp for that: Beauty BizCamp
When I went to camp, I got to choose between activities like canoeing and capture the flag. Today, thanks to former Essence beauty editor Corynne Corbett, burgeoning beauty junkies can attend sessions on Interpreting Product Trends, The Anatomy of a Red Carpet Look, and Hi Tech Beauty at Beauty BizCamp.
The NYC camp is a non-profit that “exposes teens, ages 12-18, to the breadth of careers across the industry through access to insiders, inspiring them to change the face of beauty.”
The instructors include beauty industry superstars like Lisa Price, founder of Carol’s Daughter, and Yesenia Almonte, Beauty Director at Seventeen Magazine. I’m just slightly outside of Beauty BizCamp’s age range, but I would love to spend a day with these gurus!
While the first BizCamp session has already begun, there is still time to sign up for the upcoming sessions: Behind the Products and Behind the Glam (see below). Click here to view the registration page.
Sounds like the makings of a happy camper!
