Dr. Hauschka | Holistic Cleansing How To

June 28, 2012

We are SO excited to feature Dr. Hauschka on gloss48!  I have personally been using their skincare products for years! I have very sensitive skin and a very sensitive sense of smell so I love Hauschka’s gentle, natural skincare, especially the toner!

Dr. Hauschka skincare and makeup are on sale on gloss48 for 40%-50% off starting Monday, July 2nd at 11am ET / 8am PT.

Dr. Hauschka Cleansing

This is a three-part, bite-sized series on Hauschka’s cleansing protocol, skincare regimen, and makeup.  Today, our guest makeup artist and Hauschka expert, Claudia Moriel, takes us through the holistic cleansing protocol.  In case you’re more of a reader than a watcher or you’re getting your beauty fix in stealth mode at the office, I will also list the steps below with a few extra tidbits.

First things first, let’s define a couple of terms that Claudia mentions in the video:

  • Biodynamic Farming: a diversified, balanced farm ecosystem that generates health and fertility as much as possible from within the farm itself.  This process is one step beyond organic farming in that it repurposes as much farm waste as possible to support future growth.
  • Holistic: Hauschka describes their holistic approach as an effort to focus on the bigger picture.  When designing their products, Hauschka not only focuses on the effects on the skin and its interactions with other ingredients, but also sourcing those ingredients organically and responsibly and packaging them so that they may remain free of artificial preservatives.
  • Rhythmic Skincare: Elisabeth Sigmund, pioneering esthetician and co-founder of the Dr.Hauschka Skin Care brand, recognized the 28-day cycle of renewal by which the skin was constantly recreating and balancing itself.  To reap the full benefits of the Hauschka regimen, give your skin 28 days to adjust.

Here’s a handy guide to the Hausckha cleansing protocol.  Don’t be discouraged that there is an instruction manual!  It’s really not a challenging process – just a new approach to what you’re already doing!
