New Solution for Damaged Hair? | Fusion Hair Iron Conditioning

June 20, 2012

Avi Elkayam is revolutionizing hair technology – and a fascinating guy!  He is one of the top hairdressers in Boston, by way of Tel-Aviv, and has been featured in major fashion magazines, styling for shows and shoots across Europe.  He founded Hair by Avi in 2008 using cutting edge technology to not only style, but also to improve hair health and beauty.

His most recent product launch, the Fusion Iron, “combines infrared light with ultrasonic vibrations that allow nutrients to penetrate deep into the hair’s core – plumping fine hair and smoothing coarse, unruly hair, leaving it healthy and shiny.”  Ok, so it’s sort of like my Clarisonic face brush meets infrared skincare for my hair…I get it!

We caught up with Fabrice Montes, pro stylist, to find out more about the Fusion Iron.  Simply put, Fabrice loves hair.  Her talent is limitless.  From fabulous men’s cuts to beautiful layered styles for women, she knows just the right tricks to show off her client’s personal style.

Q.  How long have you been a stylist?

I’ve been a stylist for 7 years

Q.  What’s the worst hair trend you’ve seen in your years as a stylst?  Did you partake in that trend?

Frosted tips was the worst trend I’ve ever seen! It just never looked good on anyone.  And no, I never got involved with that debacle of a trend.

Q.  What are the benefits of the Fusion Iron?  Who should be using it?

I recommend deep conditioning treatments to all my clients who color their hair or blow it dry on a regular basis. Using a quality conditioner with the Fusion really helps the conditioner (that you paid a lot for, probably) work even better by getting deeper into the hair shaft, and then the fusion seals the  moisture in the cuticle. The Fusion is especially good for color treated hair, since it prevents the color from fading and washing out of your hair so quickly.

Q.  When/how do you suggest that your clients use the iron?

Once a week or every two weeks to prevent further damage and make hair shiny and soft.

Q.  What are the best products to use to make the iron even more effective?

I like the Rene Furterer Karite Oil or mask, and the Moroccan Oil Hydrating mask.

Moroccan Oil Hydrating Mask + Furterer Karite Oil

Q.  Who’s your celeb hair hero at the moment?

Paula Patton – she has long gorgeous shiny hair. She’s very versatile, always rocking a different look.

thank you for the info, very useful, I use a good product to take care of my curly hair, it’s Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil which is amazing, it keeps my hair soft, shiny and healthy. 😀

Wow, I’ve never heard of that, it looks interesting! So far I’ve been using a Karmin G3 Salon Pro styling iron on my hair and it’s been great so far at keeping my hair conditioned even when heated. I’ll look into the cold iron though!
